Zhengzhou Railway Vocational and Technical College was founded in 1951. It is the first independent national vocational college of national railway system as well as the only vocational college majored in track and transportation in Henan Province. There are more than 13,000 full-time students in the college. The college has 889 staff, including 592 teachers. Among them there are 23 professors and 219 associate professors. 16 teachers have been entitled “The Leaders of Learning and Technology in Henan Province” and “The Famous Teachers in Henan Province” and awarded governmental special allowance by the State Council, 2 provincial teaching teams, 2 training bases supported by the Central Finance, and 6 national and provincial “Excellent Courses”. The college is the project construction unit of “National model building programs of higher vocational colleges”.
